Fresh and New

As I came back from my past
Away from memories of long last
I flapped my wings and off they flew
Water drops, and all I knew
The sun then rose, the wings now light
Darkness gone, everything bright
No eyes behind, no hindsight
It’s over now, all pain and plight
Past is parched, like sun sipped dew
There is only to know, fresh and new
